Decepticon History

"They ask, what is our aim? I can answer in one word: Victory-victory at all costs, victory in spite of all terror, victory however long and hard the road may be;without vistory, there is no survival."*

The Decepticons are a proud warrior faction. Prior to the Earth crash, nearly 95% of Cybertron was under their control. Most of their warriors in the beginning came from the famed Decepticon War Academy located near Vos.

At the start of the Decepticon-Autobot war, a warlord named Miaxus led the army to victory after victory. He was the pride of the Decepticon War Academy who slew his rival in gladiatorial combat during a Rite of Challenge. Under his leadership, the seven sub-factions grouped together to form what is known as the present day Decepticons. He claimed Vos as his capitol city.

When he was in command for 500,000 years an upstart named Megatron who recently joined the faction chose to challenge him for leadership. The two combatants notified every active general in their territories. It was, in fact, the most watched trial in memory.

The two warriors battled for ten cycles, taking a break only to rest and refuel. Neither received medical attention for their wounds. Two hours before the end of the tenth day, Megatron landed a blow to Miaxus' head which killed him.

Megatron has ruled the Decepticons since that day without ever having been formally challenged by any rival.

Under Megatron's leadership, the Decepticons recruited medics, techs and intel operatives. His large bulk hid a keen mind and he organized the Empire into a cohesive force.

While very treacherous, Starscream is Megatron's second-in-command. He specifically leads the Seeker jets but also has dominion over every other divsion save Intel. Officially he leads the Warriors division.

Soundwave is Megatron's third-in-command but he shares the same rank as Starscream. He is in command of intel.

The Med/Tech division is lead by the highest ranking medic or technician. Their rank will be no higher than 8 and will be answerable to both Starscream, Soundwave and of course Megatron.

It is the right of every Warrior to ask for a Rite of Challenge of their leader. The warrior must formally ask for it in the prescence of the command staff. The Rite is always done with all Decepticons present who can and wish to attend the event. It is a winner takes all scenario.

While fighting is the lifestyle of most Decepticons, any acts which are deemed to hurt the Cause are met with swift and often brutal punishment. The only known exception to this rule has been Starscream. No one has the ball bearings to ask Megatron "Why?".
